Greetings from the North Pole!

Just kidding. And it’s not actually all that bad today… Nonetheless, it isn’t summer. But we want it to be. I want it to be. Do you want it to be?

We all love summer because there’s just simply more going on. People come out of hibernation, things start growing, the sun’s out every day. It’s one of the best times of the year hands down.

One thing that’s great about owning a pool (and backyard patio / entertainment space) is the enjoyment you can get out of it in the summer. Having an outdoor space to enjoy each day can turn your summer from a 7/10 to a 10/10. I’m serious!

Maybe you’ve already got a pool and are thinking about some spring-time improvements. Or maybe you are still thinking about a pool and this is the year it’s finally going to happen for your family. Let’s talk a little about what you can do, NOW, when it’s freezing cold outside, to prepare for the best summer ever:

Talk to Your Spouse and Family Members
Speaking to your family (and especially your husband/wife) about what could fit into the budget this year, or what HAS to fit into the budget this year, is the first step in preparing for the year in general. This of course includes discussing summer plans such as vacations, time off, and outdoor upgrades / renovations. On the high end of things, it may be in the budget to upgrade your existing pool with a custom tanning ledge. This luxurious shift away from the traditional pool style you may currently have can turn a “boring” backyard into a brand new oasis which has both outdoor design appeal as well as several notable leisure benefits which support an appeal towards practicality. Namely, one of the top options that a tanning ledge enables is in the name itself: tanning. A tanning ledge pool renovation converts an existing pool into one with a large, flat, shallow space either within the existing pool or as an exterior addition (usually designed as a spillover spa, where the water from a separate shallow bathing space can flow back into the pool). This gives homeowners and guests the ability to place lounge chairs in the pool to cool off the feet and experience the entire atmosphere of a pool without necessarily getting wet. Another benefit of a tanning ledge is it allows for a designated, large shallow space for young children to more safely swim in. Having a large shallow area for toddlers and children can allow for your loved ones to get accustomed to what it feels like to be in the water, and can help in learning how to swim by offering a safe space that reduces fear of swimming.
